Childspring
International to Host International Gala
Nonprofit to raise funds for children, worldwide in
need
ATLANTA – October 17, 2008 - Childspring
International, a 501c(3) nonprofit serving children with
medical conditions worldwide, announced today it will host
its first annual black tie gala to raise funds for children
in need. Our inaugural gala will take place on Saturday,
March 28, 2009 at the Georgia Aquarium.
Childspring International will raise funds for medical care
and educational scholarships for children receiving surgery.
The nonprofit will also take this opportunity to build awareness
for the programs and services it provides. The resources
raised through sponsors of the event will go directly to
support Childspring’s mission.
“There are millions of children around the world, whether
due to limited medical access or economic hardships cannot
receive medical care in their country,” said Rose Emily
Bermudez, executive director of Childspring International.
“Whether it’s Ever from Paraguay who needed a prosthetic
leg and arm or Jude from Haiti who needed heart surgery,
we’re dedicated to helping those most in need. We offer
those we serve life saving medical care and an opportunity
for a better life.”
Childspring is dedicated to helping children from all over
the world with medical conditions that cannot be treated
in their countries, or that due to their economic situations,
the parents cannot afford to help their own children. Working
with physicians, hospitals, host families and partner organizations
to give a chance for a better life to underprivileged children
from all over the world, the organization has helped more
than 1000 children since 2001.
On this special evening, we will be accompanied by the Usual
Suspects Orchestra, a dynamic Big Band Entertainment with
male vocalist Craig A. Meyer, who sang the theme song “A
Whole New World” in the academy award winning Disney movie
Aladdin. And female vocalist Diane Bowman, who has considerable
off-broadway and cabaret experience in New York City as
well as Atlanta. One of our guest speakers for the night
will be Dennis Clark, president of POINT Health Centers
of America, a division of The VGM Group. In 2003, Clark
and his partners were contracted by the U.S. Department
of Defense to provide prosthetic care to wounded soldiers
returning from Iraq and Afghanistan at Walter Reed Army
Medical Center.
