2007 - 2008 EVENTS

Childspring Challenge Golf Tournament

The Childspring Challenge is an annual golf tournament.  All proceeds from the event benefit Childspring International  to support medical care, educational scholarships, nutrition and other life changing programs for children around the world.  Every year at the Childspring Challenge there is a golf tournament with prizes, a raffle, a luncheon, and the opportunity to meet some of the children we have helped.

The event will be held at the lovely Cross Creek Café and Golf Course in the Buckhead area. There will be a raffle, live and silent auctions, a Closest-to-the-Pin contest, Hole-in-One prizes, as well as prizes for the top finishers.

Some of the items for the raffle and auctions are:

  • Delta Flight Simulator
  • 50 years of the Masters Memorabilia
  • Ted Turner Braves Game Package
  • Case of Assorted Wines
  • Gift Certificate to Nancy G's Restaurant
  • South Georgia Pecans, etc.

For this year’s event, we are hoping to raise $50,000 and increase the number of sponsors from the 19 that participated in 2007 to 30 in 2008. These lofty goals have been deemed necessary and appropriate as a result of the plans that Childspring has for 2008.

Childspring International is striving to treat 250 children in 2008! This far and away exceeds any previous number treated by this organization in one year’s time. This year, every dollar donated will matter like never before and every dollar will be maximized to its fullest potential. If there ever was a year to consider giving to Childspring International, 2008 is that year.

Our 3rd annual Childspring Challenge was held on June 2nd of last year and was, once again, a huge success!  We had over 100 golfers and volunteers join us at Cross Creek Country Club and Cafe for a day filled with fun.  Through the contributions of generous sponsors, donors and players, Childspring raised over $34,000 to provide life-changing treatment to our children.
One of the most cherished aspects of the Childspring Challenge is that our supporters have the opportunity to personally meet some of the children they are helping.  Last year, five Childspring children were at the event.  The children thanked all who were in attendance and also helped everyone realize that their contributions truly are making a difference.  We appreciate the support of everyone who contributed to last year's event.

Bloomingdales - The Shopping Benefit

Thursday, October 25, 2007 at Bloomingdale's at Lenox Square and Perimeter Mall, Childspring participated in The Shopping Benefit.  Individuals received discounts on Bloomingdale's regular and sale priced merchandise while enjoying storewide entertainment, fashion events, and product demonstrations throughout the day with the purchase of an event ticket that benefited various Atlanta-based nonprofit organizations. This event raised hundreds of dollars for Childspring International. We would like to thank everyone that purchased a ticket for the event!!

A Night to Remember at the Glaser Home

On the evening of October 11th, members of the Childspring staff joined with friends and family of Wayne and Art Glaser of Marietta for an evening commemorating the life of Dan, Wayne and Art's son, who passed away in 2003. The Glaser's asked that all of their guests bring donations for Childspring, instead of gifts for the family. The event was a huge success! It was held on the Glaser's beautiful patio and there was savory food and drink provided for all to enjoy. The highlight of the night was when Ruth Ayala, a Honduran girl who came to Atlanta for treatment for her extensive burns, and her host mother, Jennifer Doost, shared their touching experiences with the entire 125 person audience. Wayne Glaser also touchingly expressed her gratitude to all of the friends and family who have helped her over the years. When it was all said and done, no one went home hungry and the Glaser's had helped Childspring raise over $13,000! Childspring International is unendingly grateful for the generosity of the Glaser family and all of the friends and family that made the night of October 11, 2007 truly special for all parties involved.
