Meet Tami Feng, Childspring International’s summer 2015 case intern! Tami is a fourth year student at Emory University, where she is majoring in neuroscience and behavioral biology and minoring in linguistics.
This summer, Tami’s main project at Childspring is to create a comprehensive manual for how to bring a child to the United States for treatment. It includes procedures for visa applications, instructions for how to help a child’s family apply for a passport, checklists of other documents that may be needed, and a guide for how to choose flights that maximize cost effectiveness as well as children’s comfort.
In addition to her internship with Childspring, Tami is working in a psycholinguistics lab, where she is mapping language on the brain, and applying to medical school to become a neurologist.
